Online Gambling’s Good for U.S.

The necessity of maintaining a strong customer base would motivate legal American service providers to offer legitimate, reputable gambling sites.

A great degree of surveillance is required to detect online illegality, and there are significant difficulties in locating, investigating, and prosecuting online offenders. Many of these sites were established in small nations with little or no regulatory oversight.

The current prohibitionist law is really a protectionist measure designed to support specific domestic operators, such as the websites run by the horse betting industry. Along with the inefficient use of resources caused by prohibition, there’s the danger of unintentionally increasing the criminal element.

Second, consumer demand for online gambling and the government’s demand for tax revenues will create enormous pressure for legalization in any jurisdiction, such as the U.S., that currently operates a domestic ban.

Patrick Basham is a Cato Institute adjunct scholar. The online gambling industry is merely another form of commerce where prohibition is the wrong option.

Federal prosecutors just dealt consumer freedom a terrible hand, shutting down the gambling website Bodog.com and indicting four company executives, including founder Calvin Ayre, for alleged illegal gambling that actually generated $100 million in customer winnings. He coauthored (with John Luik) the Democracy Institute book, Gambling: A Healthy Bet.

For example, in 2009 there were 2,381 sites run by 493 companies licensed in 50 jurisdictions worldwide. As an international network, the Internet provides an instant detour around domestic prohibition.

Another major benefit of allowing online gambling is that competition will be introduced into a highly regulated marketplace dominated by licensed providers who monopolize the gaming market. Ironically the anti-Bodog crackdown comes as the push for sensible regulation of the online gambling industry is gathering serious political momentum.

Two additional factors contribute to the inevitable failure of prohibition. The ill-advised indictments handed down against Calvin Ayre and his Bodog colleagues cannot alter that fact. As such, the Internet offers potential consumers convenient and inexpensive access to their favorite gambling sites, introducing competition into an industry once dominated by highly restrictive licensing practices.

In recent years, it’s become clear to a growing number of policymakers, including Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, that the ban on online gambling is a failure. Many federal and state-level politicians want to legalize online gambling, which Congress made illegal in 2006.

In 2008, the global online gambling market was valued at $20 billion annually, with 50 percent of that demand coming from the U.S.. Not only will this increased competition result in a wider range of gambling activities, it will reduce cost to consumers. Stopping American online gambling is truly mission impossible, with a vast number of insurmountable challenges facing governments that endeavor to criminalize online gambling.

The Internet has revealed the potential of technology not only to dramatically increase existing gambling opportunities but also to introduce new ones. If the domestic marketplace demands online gambling, which it clearly does, it will be supplied with or without government consent. The principal benefit of regulation to online players is the personal and legal security of funds, whereas currently players in unregulated environments have no legal recourse over matters such as suspected cheating and frozen assets.

Gambling is one of the great successes of online commerce. This is especially true given service providers’ unrestrained access to overseas Internet sites in jurisdictions without online gambling restrictions.

Online gambling can be regulated effectively and without excessive cost, to standards that will provide strong protections for consumers and vulnerable players.

This form of gambling also encourages private sector businesses to develop network capacity and commerce. Increased competition results in a more efficient allocation of resources, as gambling providers attempt to maintain and attract new customers.

Banning online gambling in the domestic American market simply results in the establishment of Internet gaming sites overseas. First, online technology renders prohibition futile. Including unlicensed sites, the total rose to 6,000. In addition, the technological and human capital required to locate offenders is substantial, as are the costs of prosecution and incarceration. With legal online gambling, competition among operators would increase to such an extent that they will be forced by the marketplace, rather than by governments, to offer a reduced house advantage.

Prohibitionists appear to ignore the fact that most gambling sites, like any reputable business, rely on customer loyalty to remain profitable. As other jurisdictions identify the demand for online gambling, they have supplied this service to consumers.

Sports :: The Best Closers in MLB History (Page 1 of 2)

5. Lee Smith – St. Bruce Sutter – St. Rich “Goose” Gossage

A baseball closer is the last line of defense. His all time career saves record stood from 1993-2006 when broken by current San Diego Padre Trevor Hoffman. Standing 6’6” 265lbs, and throwing a 95 mph fastball, Smith dominated the game to the tune of 478 career saves when he hung up his cleats. A closer also has to have at least one great pitch. His fast ball once was consistently clocked between 96-100mph, aiding in his dominating 763 career strikeouts. They have to have a short memory, and continue to do their job with passion and confidence. Louis Cardinals

7. The “Goose” spent time with 9 different major league teams, and finished with 310 career saves, good for 4th all time. With 183 career saves, the Twins hard throwing righty ranks in the top 50 all-time. Troy Percival – Tampa Bay Rays

Arguably, Joe Nathan has been MLB’s best closer the past 4 seasons. Many closers have an electrifying fastball with high velocity and movement. This two time all-star became the first closer in team history to record 36 or more saves in 4 straight seasons (1990-1993). This 5 time all star won the Rolaids Relief Man of the Year award in 1999, and is rapidly approaching 1,000 career strikeouts.

Lee Smith was a dominating, and intimidating presence on the mound. Louis Cardinals

8. And now, we promise not to make you wait for our best closers list any longer…

Currently 6th on the all time saves list with 376, this flame throwing lefty continues to dominate today with the New York Mets. They can be anointed the hero, and criticized greatly all in the same week. One pitch can make or break a game, so a closer has to be clutch. A closer has to be tough, confident, and skilled and closers have to have thick skin. Gossage was voted into the MLB hall of fame in 2008, with a convincing 85.8 % vote.

6. Goose played in the league a remarkable 22 years, leading the AL in saves 3 different seasons. Here MLBcentral.com & Pro Baseball Fans takes a look at perhaps 10 of the greatest closers of all time.

Another intimidating figure on the mound, Gossage sported wild facial hair, and a blazing fastball. Gossage was given credit, along with Ron Davis of the 70’s and 80’s Yankees, for pioneering the setup man/closer pairing role. He is a model of consistency, and should continue to rise in the record books.

10. Closers are responsible for saving (or blowing) hundreds of games each year. Billy Wagner – New York Mets

9. He had a career-high 42 saves in 1998, and enjoyed his best season in 2002 with a 4-1 record, 40 saves, 68 strikeouts, and a 1.92 ERA that year. 1991 could be classified as Smith’s best year when he had an NL best 47 saves with the Cardinals and was runner up in the Cy-Young award voting.

This 4 time all-star continues to amass saves (343 career) with the upstart Tampa Bay Rays this year, currently with baseball’s best record. Joe Nathan – Minnesota Twins. As a kid, Wagner was a natural right handed thrower, but after multiple breaks to his throwing arm, taught himself to throw left handed against a barn door. Others rely on finesse and location. Ranked 15 th in saves amongst all active closers, Nathan has proven to be one of the most consistent relievers in the game

Gaming laws could pose risk for fantasy football craze

The NFL has even gotten into the act with a web site for stats and strategies.

“Most interesting to me, however, is that even though Yahoo has taken a more risk averse approach than CBS Sports, it still does not outlaw its game in a number of states where some risk still may exist,” Edelman said in his blog. Meale did not respond to repeated requests for clarification.

The trash talk around the water cooler is already underway as hordes of fantasy football players get ready to draft their teams. Recently, Yahoo! announced the launch of its Yahoo! Pro Leagues, which are leagues that offer up $500 in cash prices to fantasy football players.

But managing a dream team of real players could get some betting fans in hot water with the authorities. In states where high-stakes fantasy sports technically falls under the definition of prohibited gambling, players could be risking more than their pride.

Once a novelty game between industry friends, fantasy football has skyrocketed into a national obsession, complete with armchair general managers and game-day experts giddy over calling the shots from their man (and woman) caves.

Much of the confusion over the legality of operating and participating in fantasy league-land centers on murky state gaming laws clashing with broad federal policies.

Meale was not able to say how much, if any, of Florida’s resources were spent going after and prosecuting fantasy football participants.

Federally, the law that regulates online gambling — called the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 — protects fantasy football leagues, though players are supposed to report their winnings to the IRS. “Some fantasy agreements — especially those in any chance states — violate state law.”

The popularity of the game has given way to countless websites, blogs and magazines. “For example, Yahoo! is willing to pay cash prizes to contestants in Kansas, even though last fall the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission had language on its website indicating that pay-to-win fantasy sports games were illegal.”

Sunshine State residents caught betting money on fantasy football leagues could be slapped with misdemeanors.

Take Florida, for example.

The law not only extends to office pools that stretch out over a season but also allows players to lawfully compete for cash in high-stakes leagues that only last one day or one weekend.

Sitting on the sidelines wasn’t an option for Maryland Del.

“In many cases, state regulations are stricter than federal regulations,” law professor Marc Edelman told FoxNews.com. John Olszewski Jr., who successfully got a bill passed in the 2012 state General Assembly that would allow Marylanders to compete for cash and prices in fantasy sports leagues.

Typically, in fantasy football, players draft a roster of real NFL players and keep score against each other based on how their players do in real games. Touchdowns, field goals, yards gained, sacks and interceptions generate fantasy points as sedentary owners go head-to-head each week.

Arizona, Iowa, Louisiana, Montana and Vermont are among the “chance states,” said Edelman, a law professor at City University of New York, Baruch College, Zicklin School of Business.

But some states like Florida say they want no part of the fantasy phenomenon and have technically banned it.

Surprisingly, CBS Sports and Yahoo! Sports offer play-for-cash games in Florida, which may be in direct contradiction to the law there. Groupon even featured a special in August that taught newcomers the tactical maneuvers needed for a successful season.

Olszewski’s law, which went into effect on Oct. 1, officially gave sports fans in the state the right to play to win big bucks in fantasy football leagues.

Jenn Meale, communications director for Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, points to a state statute that prohibits residents from playing in fantasy leagues “whereby contestants pay an entry fee for the opportunity to select actual professional sports players to make up a fantasy team whose actual performance statistics result in cash payments from the contestants’ entry fees to the contestant with the best fantasy team.”

The problem is that the sport has morphed into a billion-dollar betting industry that conflicts with state gaming rules and regulations.

Calls to CBS Sports and Yahoo! were not returned. Other states are less clear with the laws they have on the books and what it means for pay-to-play groups.

“Chance states” are those that prohibit or limit the legality of a player getting paid if a game involves an entry fee or prize, or if the outcome of the game relies on an element of chance.

The argument some make, though, is that the victor of a fantasy game is determined through skill, not chance.

5 myths of sports betting legalization

Concerts, shows, high-end nightclubs and restaurants draw people to Vegas as much as the gambling does. Illegal gambling is one of the factors that’s associated with gambling addiction,” Keith S. In the past two decades, although total revenue has risen, percentage of revenue from gambling has decreased from close to 60 percent to last year’s 38 percent. 3: It will put local illegal bookies out of business

Furthermore, once sports betting becomes legal the negative stigma behind it will eventually disappear, which will make it a bit easier for problem gamblers to ask for help. These days, most bookies provide both a phone number and website where bets can be made. In order to grow the pie large enough, these conveniences must be provided to gamblers. The U.S. 1: It will result in large revenue for the leagues

The topic of federal legalization of sports betting has been brought up before, but it has gained steam since Adam Silver’s November New York Times op-ed and after Silver’s cover story in ESPN The Magazine’s Gambling Issue. There are no credit checks or margin calls until it is time for me to pay. Say I set up an account with Legal Sportsbook A. I am concerned that the overall pie, even with online gambling, may not be large enough for the leagues to make the money they are hoping for.. Purdum, an expert on the subject, has been vocal in his belief that online sports gambling will need to be a big part of the new legalization plan, and I share his belief, as betting on a phone and computer is simply much more convenient than driving to a brick-and-mortar sports book and making a wager. The two biggest reasons people bet with bookies (beyond the lack of alternatives) are the convenience and the line of credit. District Court Judge Mary Ann Medler ruled in favor of CBC, stating that “statistics are part of the public domain and can be used at no cost by fantasy companies.” One would infer that the same would apply to legal bookmaking operations.

Silver echoed this sentiment when discussing his personal revelation in an exclusive interview with ESPN. Yes, trademark images and logos would be a different story, so I could see the leagues getting marketing deals, but I don’t see that as a huge windfall for the leagues.

In that time span, we all know that Vegas has flourished. Since sports gambling is currently something that happens in the shadows, problem gamblers are likely to hide in that shadow until it is too late.

Those betting with bookies have predetermined settlement terms. 5: It will create greater risk for game fixing

Myth No. Illegal sports betting has some characteristics that can lead to problem gambling more than legal betting would.

“One of the things that makes sports betting so interesting is that it is probably by far the most widely participated in form of illegal gambling. This credit relationship will be hard for many gamblers to give up.

Here are the top five myths about legalizing sports betting and why they’re wrong:

While it seems that the question of legalizing sports betting presently is more of an if than a when, there remains a great deal of uncertainty regarding what it would look like. Some are based on a time frame, while others are based on going over agreed-upon limits. Whyte, executive director of the NCPG, told my ESPN colleague David Purdum.

Once games happen, the stats are public domain. In the latter case, I set up a credit arrangement with Illegal Book B and we agree that I will pay every time I go over $1,000. In fact, there’s an argument that exposing more people to sports gambling in their native states will make the general concept of sports gambling more approachable, ultimately leading to a larger overall percentage of sports fans-turned-gamblers.

Myth No. In addition, customers are far more inclined to place a wager when they don’t have to put any money down.

My answer is a solid maybe. 4: It will damage the sports betting business in Las Vegas

This is the easiest myth to dispel.

Myth No. If it’s legalized, there will be huge changes, but some assumptions are simply off.

Here’s an example. However, there are certainly some myths that I believe can be dispelled.

When I think about the best way to legalize sports gambling from a logistical standpoint, I get a headache. It’s a pretty reasonable assumption that it’s easier to fix a game in an environment where most of the money wagered is impossible to discover or track by the government. Many bookies will allow me to get more credit and continue to gamble. operation for the U.K. “But for the FBI knocking on our door and notifying us about Donaghy’s betting, none of the systems that we then had in place had captured any betting by Tim Donaghy.”

Those who believe this simply don’t understand how sports betting with a bookie works. (It’s common for bookies to offer rebates to their big customers.) This will be difficult for legal bookmakers to compete with.

I understand the argument that legalized sports betting could expose more people to gambling and the increased ease and access will create more problem gamblers, but I simply don’t buy it. Vegas has had to reinvent itself as a place that is about more than just gambling. U.S. In addition, asking for a percentage based on the overall handle (total amount wagered) will cut into the margin of the sports books too significantly.

The thought process here is that with legalized sports betting available locally, there will be less interest in making the trek to Sin City to wager on sports. The experience of going to Vegas is becoming less and less about putting down a sports bet and more and more about the experience of everything else. Those who believe that legalized sports betting will lead to more risk of game fixing simply don’t understand why games are fixed. “The Donaghy controversy also made me aware how important it is that we have a way of monitoring irregular activity on our games,” Silver said. This year, it is on pace to welcome a record 40 million visitors. John McCain (R-Ariz.) also recently said that Congress needs to hold hearings to discuss legalizing sports betting.

I see the same trend happening if sports betting gets legalized in the U.S. bookmaking powerhouse William Hill has already set up an operation in New Jersey, and MGM CEO Jim Murren has said his company is interested in expansion.

The real value for them will be potential marketing dollars and increased fan engagement, not licensing fees for data or direct revenue from wagering.

Until many of these questions are answered, it will be difficult to draw any hard conclusions about the ramifications of legalized sports gambling in the U.S. If something shady were to occur in a game around a betting proposition, raised awareness by the public about gambling in general would help highlight any improprieties before, during and after the match.

Myth No. This mirrors a similar concern that some had 25 years ago when Indian and commercial casinos began sprouting up all over the U.S.

Myth No. First off, the government will only legalize if it is going to get significant revenue. I will likely have to put money on deposit to do so.

There are a lot of unanswered questions regarding legalization of sports gambling in the U.S., and it will be fascinating to watch how it unfolds in the next few years. Second, operators will need to run a cost-effective business, which may prove difficult if there are a lot of other hands to feed besides the government.

At any rate, I really don’t see legalized sports betting in other states having a big impact on the sports betting business in Vegas.

Since bookies will not have to pay taxes or licensing fees, they will be able to offer better margins or incentives to their customers. This is the type of financial recklessness associated with problem gambling.

There is simply no way the leagues could ask for a percentage piece of gambling revenue, as this would result in a huge conflict of interest. 2: It will create more “problem gamblers”

Mr. Are fewer people gambling because they can do it in their home state?

And I have heard some mention licensing fees for data, but haven’t we already covered that in lawsuits against both the NBA and Major League Baseball Advanced Media (MLBAM)? In both cases, statistics and data were ruled to be public, not a private asset for which the leagues could charge a license fee.

In the most relevant case, CBC, the parent company of CDM Sports, a fantasy provider, sued MLBAM after being denied a new fantasy sports license. Maybe more so.

In addition, game fixing would be easier in a world where fewer people track or are even aware of things like point spreads and over/under bets. How will it be regulated? How involved will the government be? Will it be federal enforcement or on a state level?

The National Council on Problem Gamblers has found that problem gamblers are most often involved in illegal gambling, so moving toward a model where more gamblers are doing it legally can only help.

Las Vegas sports book operators are already looking to expand to other states. But let’s say I have a bad losing streak and end up down more than $1,000. There are going to be a lot of hands in the cookie jar. This is not how most bookies work. Sen. Legalized sports betting would elevate these now somewhat esoteric notions into the mainstream conversation about sports. When I lose this money, it’s gone, and I can’t bet until I put more money on deposit

8 Coolest Muscle Cars of the 70’s

There were many crappy cars from the 70’s; however this decade also brought us some of the finest and most collectible cars of all time. By far the most popular years of the Pontiac Firebird was from 1970-1981. Call it what you want, because this was a true muscle car that is still very sought after by car collectors.

Generally the Pontiac Firebird is considered a sports car and not a muscle car, the exception to this though is the 1971-1974 Firebirds that had the 455 Engine. These “sleeper cars” could fool a lot of people until the light turned green and you left your competition in the rear view mirror!

5. It may not be your favorite car, but when you see one in town you definitely take notice. You favorite car may be a Corvette, a Mustang, or even a 4 wheel drive pickup; however the Plymouth Barracuda is often the one car that all guys seem to love. Here are 8 of the coolest muscle cars of the 70’s.

8. In the 70’s the best models were from 1970 to 1974 when production of this car model ceased. Some people may refer to it as a Pony car or even a rare few will refer to it as a sports car. Restored Plymouth Barracudas are often a top draw to car shows around the Country. A smaller bodied Chevy Nova packing a V8 motor has a lot of power. Pontiac Firebird”/>

In the first Smoky and the Bandit movie a 1977 Pontiac Trans-Am Special Edition was used and in the sequel a 1980 Trans-Am was used. The New Dodge Challengers are a tribute to the styling and performance cues of the past models; however the new Challengers are definitely mode technologically advanced. The Trans-Am cars were cool though in all of the movies, but the 1977 Trans-Am in the original Smoky and the Bandit was definitely one of the most iconic cars of the 70’s.

3. Plymouth Barracuda

The Plymouth ‘Cuda was made from 1964-1974. The 70, 71, and 72 Chevelle SS were by far the coolest Chevelle models made in the 70’s. How we went from a society that prized cars such as the Dodge Charger to a society that valued the Chevy Citation will never be fully understood; however it mainly revolved around the high cost of fuel. As cool as the new Challengers are, none of them seem quite at home on the pavement as the 70’s models.

1. The slogan for this car should be “Smoke the tires and get the girls!”

Chevelle’ were manufactured for many years in a variety of body styles including even a Chevelle wagon. An old Hemi ‘Cuda from the 70’s is one of the few cars that almost all guys love. The end of the 70’s was also marked as the end of a very important period for muscle cars. Chevelle SS”/>

6. The Pontiac GTO was one of the most iconic muscle cars of the early 70's.

The Plymouth Road Runner was manufactured between 1968-1980. Although the Superbird was not as popular as the regular Road Runner, the value and popularity of the Superbird models has rapidly increased over the last decade.

The 10 Greatest Race Horses of All Time

The greatest of the great, his triple crown campaign, during which he set official track records at Churchill Downs and Belmont Park, and an unofficial track record at Pimlico, will never be exceeded or even matched. Fager. Beat Spectacular Bid in their only meeting, but was beaten handily by Seattle Slew in their two races.

Honorable Mentions: Sunday Silence, Easy Goer, Buckpasser, Ghostzapper, Count Fleet, War Admiral, Seabiscuit, Damascus, Cigar, Personal Ensign, Ruffian, Risen Star, John Henry, Swaps. His heart and intelligence combined with speed and stamina to make him one of the all time great champions. His Kentucky Derby win, which came despite being rushed to the lead by Jean Cruguet after an awkward start, may be the greatest ever. Pity poor Sham, an outstanding racehorse in his own right, who was a game second in the Kentucky Derby and Preakness before being annihilated with all the rest in Secretariat’s incomparable Belmont Stakes win, during which he set a world record for 12 furlongs that still stands to this day.

Man o’ War – 20 wins from 21 starts. His lone loss, ironically to a horse named Upset, came during his 2-year-old season in the 1919 but hardly mars an otherwise dominating career.

Affirmed – 22 wins from 29 starts. Those who argue that many non-American horses deserve inclusion will get no argument from me. Only a narrow loss to Dark Star after a rough trip in the 1953 Kentucky Derby blemishes an otherwise perfect career

Dr. A threat to break the track record every time he stepped on the racetrack, his astonishing 1:57.4 in the 1980 Strub still stands as the record for 10 furlongs at Santa Anita

Kelso – 39 wins from 63 starts. Perhaps not as consistent as others on this list, but his durability and willingness to take on all comers more than compensates.

Native Dancer – 21 wins from 22 starts. Only denied a Triple Crown by a poorly judged ride in the Belmont Stakes by Ron Franklin. His Triple Crown battles with Alydar will never by forgotten. Crushed Affirmed in their two meetings a Belmont Park in the fall of 1978.

Spectacular Bid – 26 wins from 30 starts. Twice named champion sprinter, and once Horse of the Year, he was among the best from 7 furlongs to 1 1/4 miles.

Miesque – 14 wins from 18 starts.

Secretariat – 16 wins from 21 starts. Brilliant, precocious, altogether the greatest horse of the 1990s (only Cigar can rival him). 15 of her 16 starts came in Group 1 or Grade 1 races, but her crowning achievement is surely her back to back victories in the Breeders Cup Mile, both in utterly dominant style.

Holy Bull – 13 wins from 16 starts. Fager – 18 wins from 22 starts. Great fillies like Personal Ensign and Ruffian did not make the list simply because I don’t think that on their best day they could beat any of the horses on this list on their best days (see also my article about Rachel Alexandra, about whom I would say the same.) Without further ado, the 10 Greatest Race Horses of All Time:

. He might rank higher on this list if not for an unaccountably disastrous performance as the 2-1 favorite in the 1994 Kentucky Derby. There’s fast, faster, and Dr.

Seattle Slew – 14 wins from 17 starts.

Other Horse Racing Articles By This Author:

Needless to say, this list represents one man’s subjective opinions as to the greatest of all time, and the horses represented here are only those who have raced on American soil. Champion two and three-year old. I’ve tried to include the very best of the best without regard to gender or racing surface. The only filly, the only foreign-bred, and the only turf horse on this list, which says something about her greatness. Man o’ War was the first great race horse to really capture the public’s imagination and raise horse racing in the public consciousness. Undefeated as a 2-year-old, Triple Crown winner at 3. The only gelding on the list, “Mighty” Kelso, as he was inevitably described, was named Horse of the Year an incredible five times from 1960-1964, a feat that will surely never be matched

How To Get Rich on Habbo Hotel

There

will be plenty

of winning/losing streaks along the way, and your

total bankroll over time will be

a rollercoaster. This path is by no

means quick and easy, so do not expect instant results.

Things You Will NeedAll you’ll need is a computer with a working Internet connection. To the typical Habbo

player, it can be daunting to see how wealthy

some of the elite

players are. As you get

rich enough,

consider the prospect of opening your own casino! You can sell

rights

and establish yourself more formally as a well-known dealer

on Habbo Hotel.

Remember to deal responsibly. This will give you a positive reputation, and they’ll likely bet it again and lose it anyway.

These coins will be traded among

various Habbos until one of them ultimately decides to

gamble

them. Sometimes these gifts would be rares (right on!),

but

typically I got various norms. For example, I

would be more apt to bet someone named

Blue than XxSweetie_012xX.

Whip out a dictionary and look up some words that have

not been

taken yet. Although dealing under the Kelly bet will

slow your

growth, it is certainly better to deal under than

over.

Thus, you should regularly check

your bankroll and see what the optimal Kelly bet

is,

and try to get bets that are that big. Many people

who

attend these have a decent reputation on the hotel and many

friends. You may get discounts

(or

even free) rights other casinos. If

you’d like to get this right away, simply buy a few coins (you could

get 20 via text message for $4), or, if you’re a die-hard for not

spending any money, play games and make friends, get some normal

furni, and sell them for coins (described in-depth in step 5). If a player claims to lose all their furni, I recommend giving them one of their bets back. This translates into the pixel world.

You’re going to need Habbo Club to appear presentable and to be taken

seriously by the community (no one likes being called a bacon). It is clear that the richest of the rich on Habbo

did

not attain their wealth from buying coins, considering that spending

$100 on

coins will get you only 10

gold bars. (See

my page for details on dealer advantage.) But, in order to get a

good start on your dealing (as we will discuss later), you will

probably want to start with 50 coins (known as a “gb” for

gold bar).

Realize that the Habbo

economy is dominated by gambling.

Wealth is localized in

Habbo in quite a regular fashion. Save up your coins

until you have enough to buy rights PLUS about 50 coins to start

dealing.

Step 9

Step 2

Select a good username.

Many

Habbos try to get bets in casinos, but fail to do so and wonder why.

Gamblers

with experience inherently trust more aged users, and an

indicator of age is the

uniqueness of a username. I have posted

a Kelly

calculator for Habbo games here.

Dealing over the Kelly bet will make you more likely to lose it all

without any added benefit. In most cases, the casino wins when gambling. A

myriad of bling and headdresses is bound to scare

patrons away

from your booth.

Do not wear badges except the one for the

casino’s dealer group.

Doing this will also get you your first

HC gift.

DO mooch more furni and

coins and trade up

How I got my starting capital (several

times, mind you) was by making rich friends

and getting gifts from

them. If you can’t, let the Kelly

amount be

your booth’s maximum bet.. If these coins

are wagered enough times, the casino will eventually own all of them.

Thus, the split between rich and poor grows.

I also recommend playing the many games

that are hosted, but never pay the owner furni. As your reputation

grows, it may be tempting to do

super rare bets that you cannot

afford.

Step 4

DO NOT BET YOUR FREE HC

GIFT

Betting in Habbo is typically a no-no. It’s best to expect

that the owner is a scammer, and you can’t get scammed if you don’t

give him or her anything.

This how-to guide will give you the

tools needed to become rich on Habbo Hotel. Thus, it is

important to apportion bets appropriately to allow for

this

long-term growth, as discussed in the next step.

Check bobbavalues.com if you need a

price check on a rare you come across.

With all these techniques, you should

see a steady growth of your purse. Getting to

know them can lead to them betting you, or at

least filling a casino you deal in

and making you appear friendly

and approachable.

Step 8

Bet big = FAIL

According

to The Wizard

of Odds, the amount you should optimally be dealing for each hand

is determined by the Kelly criterion. Step 3

Get your first month of

Habbo Club.

Habbo Hotel is dominated by teenagers, and

teenagers are superficial. There’s bound to be something.

Step 5

Tips & Warnings

Step 7

Deal ONLY games that are, eventually,

guaranteed to make you rich.

Poker and multi have a 0%

dealer advantage, and are thus horrible games to deal. I’m guessing you have one of those.Step 1

Good places to find

friends are in various games and reality shows. Using Habbo Hotel as a

friend-making service (as it was

intended) is one of the most

profitable moves you can make as a dealer. In addition

to most games and their

conditions leading the dealer to an

advantage, you will likely get scammed,

reducing your total

payback even more. Here

are some tips for Habbo Club members:

Do not overdress. (The Habbo Club sofa used to be the common

unit of exchange in the market. It’s ok to shop around for a

good deal on rights, but don’t suffice for a

middle-of-the-list

casino. However, with the birth of the

marketplace, coins are now typically used.)

Conclusion

Step 6

Buy rights from a popular

casino

Your money will simply not be well spent unless

you buy rights from a popular

casino. Doing so

will grow your

reputation and give you more people to bet. Never bet higher than the Kelly criterion

would have you,

and remember to put all that furni you earn to good use!

Habbo

Hotel is a massively multiplayer online game where players create

virtual

avatars to visit various hotel rooms, participate in

activities, and personalize

their own page. The trick is to open a coin shop and

sell LOW.

You’re not looking to make big money here; just enough

to get started with your

gambling enterprise. This formula was made to show

gamblers (if the odds are in their favor) how much they should bet

for maximum growth with minimum risk.

Bear

in mind that the dealer advantage is over the long run. For

instance, in a game with 10% dealer

advantage, for every 10 coins bet, the dealer

can expect to profit

1 coin.

As a dealer, it’s important not to offer deals that are so large they take away your dealers’ advantage. The

approximate dealer advantage of each game,

determined

by simulation, is found here, the higher the better. You need rights in a casino that is regularly on the top

of

the list.

Grow your friend network

It

is important not to coop yourself up in the casino the whole time as

you are

trying to gain profit. Getting to know others on Habbo is

essential

to making coins. It begins with a new

player

deciding to buy coins. In

order to

grow your wealth, you need to play games with a dealer advantage, such as 6, 13, 21, and pick-a-number.

The

dealer advantage is defined as the percent profit the dealer

makes on each bet

So in this one I’m a pygmy hog and his wife is like this — what’s going on up there? So you see I only have one voice I do. An idol of mine since I was little and I remember in “Meatballs” how cool the relationship with the kid and I thought I would be perfect and finally got phone call from him. He reaches out to you and moves around quite a bit and I sent him letters and artwok. If you see it every year, bye, buddy. That’s me. And not tuck my shirt in when I’m realizing. But for directing what happens is sometimes you develop projects and they don’t get made. So many big stars in it, as well including Idris Elba and Ben Kingsley and heard bill Murray. A few voices. You do — you act in this, as well. I do voices like in “Elf.” Remember there was a lot of little animated characters like the narwal. You know him from “Swingers” “Elf” and “Iron man” out with a brand-new take on the Disney classic “The jungle book.” Take a look. The backgrounds are generated so the sets weren’t much different than what we have right here. We have a question for you about your background. Cannot wait to see this movie after seeing the trailer but it’s going to be a bit of a challenge taking a classic like this. Good morning. After I sent letters and sent messages and said let’s do it. I’ve been wanting to work with the guy. What does it mean to bring it to life in modern terms? We have one live action kid and everything else around it is created by artists and computers. I’m helping baloo get ready. You want to do this you do it in the man village. He’s not easy — not like you call an agent or publicist. Good morning. Famously unavailable. He runs his own business. We were wondering what is the role or the opportunity that got away? Well, as an actor, unfortunately those people out there who know you auditioned for hundreds of things so a lot of them got away. “The jungle book” hits movies

Will the big game save gaming in Atlantic City?

Florida developer Glen Straub, who submitted the losing bid, is challenging the sale.. Atlantic City casino revenue reached a peak of $5.2 billion, and tumbled to $2.86 billion last year nearly two dozen casinos were built within driving distance of the Jersey shore gambling mecca.

“I don’t think it’s going to be the lifeline for the casinos,” said Alex Bumazhny, who follows the casino industry for Fitch Ratings, adding that the credit rating agency “doesn’t think it will make a big difference” in Atlantic City.

Under a measure New Jersey Gov. Despite such concerns, Christie initially moved to permit sports betting in 2011 after voters approved a constitutional amendment to legalize it. and the NCAA have long opposed sports gambling because of fears it would lead to game-fixing. But State Senator Raymond Lesniak, an outspoken proponent for sports betting, pushed through a bill this that year that abolished the state’s existing prohibitions against sports betting.

Second, as an economic activity, sports betting isn’t a game-changer. Though 44 percent of people surveyed by Rutgers-Eagleton poll thought that sports betting was a positive for Atlantic City, another 48 percent were less sure of its value, while another 31 percent thought it would make no difference. The state then eliminated all of its laws outlawing sports betting at tracks and casinos.

Another obstacle is that New Jersey residents are divided over the benefits of sports betting. 15, 2014 in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

The NFL subsequently sued to block the law, claiming that it violated an 1992 federal law that restricted sports betting to four states.

Earlier this month, Brookfield Asset Management, owner of Las Vegas’ Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, acquired Revel for $110 million, a fraction of the $2.4 billion to build. “This whole thing is a snow job.”

The reasons are many. There probably isn’t anything that can save Atlantic City.”

Still, sports betting is starting up in New Jersey despite ferocious competition from a number powerful interests.

“Nobody expected such a bizarre move,” said I. Over the past few months, operators of the Revel Casino Hotel, which at one time was touted as linchpin of an Atlantic City revival, Trump Plaza and Showboat, closed their doors. According to data from the American Gaming Association, a trade group, about $3.4 billion was wagered on sports at casinos in Nevada in 2012, though the total amount generated by the state’s casinos race books was much smaller. A federal court ruled in the league’s favor, and the U.S. For one, the decline of New Jersey’s gaming industry has been years in the making and was hastened when lawmakers in neighboring Pennsylvania, a key Atlantic City market, allowed casino gaming. Casino industry experts have argued that it will be difficult for Brookfield to operate Revel as a casino because it never made a profit. The AGA pegs the gross gaming revenue from sports bets at $170 million, a tiny percentage of the $10.9 billion consumers plunked down in the state’s casinos in 2012. But that law comes amid a major slump in gambling in the state. “This isn’t going to save Atlantic City. Nelson Rose, a professor at Whittier Law School who has written a textbook on gaming law, adding he wasn’t sure if New Jersey’s move will survive a court challenge. Supreme Court refused to hear the state’s appeal, leaving the ban in place.

A further damper on sports betting profits at Atlantic City casinos is the fact that it’s legal in Delaware and a handful of other states.

“The reality is that it’s a big deal for Monmouth Park and that’s it,” said Alan Woinski, the president of Gaming USA, a consulting firm based in Paramus, New Jersey, in an interview, referring to a struggling race track in Oceanport, New Jersey, that under the state’s new law will be able accept sports bets. The Trump Taj Mahal has threatened to shut down next month unless it receives concessions from state officials.

Atlantic City’s embattled casino industry, which has lost thousands of jobs this year as money-losing operator shut their doors, shouldn’t expect much of a boost from sports betting, experts say
